Double Arch in Arches National Park, Utah.

Last summer I drove across the United States and back from my home in Maryland. At my farthest, I lay on a beach on the westernmost coast of Vancouver Island. I learned that I can spend weeks by myself in the woods, that my car’s autopilot feature tops out at 80mph, and that the heart of America lies in its parks and in its diner culture. From Kansas to Vancouver and back to through the Rockies, I filmed moments from my travels. This week I combed through my footage and stitched together a short film of sorts. Some footage (from my stops in Wyoming, South Dakota and Michigan) was unfortunately lost when my camera was stolen in Minneapolis. Other missing moments, such as the beginning, end, and a two-day stop in Nashville, can be attributed to my own lack of foresight. Enjoy!
